SPIRITUALITY: HOW TO EXPLAIN IT!
CONSECRATION TO JESUS THROUGH MARY
(1) HOW TO MAKE IT: THE ACT OF CONSECRATION
My dear Jesus, I want to
love you more. Have mercy on my soul and upon all of God’s children. Amen.
I come to You through the powerful intercession of Mary’s Immaculate
Heart. I accept and welcome the Holy Spirit of love into my heart and soul,
mind and life.
I promise to obey His commands to love all You place upon my road to life eternal,
lived in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. All glory and honour, praise
and thanksgiving be given to our Heavenly Father Who lives and reigns now and
forever. Amen.
May all the angels and saints in God’s Kingdom of love help me to do God’s will
and to love His People. Amen.
(Prayer given by Our Blessed Mother 5.1.1993).
PRAYER OF IDENTIFICATION WITH THE IMMACULATA
BY SAINT MAXIMILIAN KOLBE
O Immaculate Conception…
Mary my Mother…
Live in me…
Act in me…
Speak in and through me.
Think your thoughts in my mind…
Love through my heart.
Give me your own dispositions and feelings.
Teach, lead and guide me to Jesus.
Correct, enlighten and expand my entire personality and life.
Replace me with yourself.
Incline me to constant adoration and thanksgiving;
Pray in and through me.
Let me live in you and keep me in this union always. Amen.

EXTRACT FROM SAINT LOUIS
DE MONTFORT’S
ACT OF CONSECRATION TO JESUS THROUGH MARY
I, (Name
), a faithless sinner, renew and ratify today
In thy hands the vows of my Baptism;
I renounce forever Satan, his pomps and works;
And I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom,
To carry my Cross after Him all the days of my life,
And to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before.
In the presence of all the Heavenly Court
I choose thee this day for my Mother and Mistress.
I deliver and consecrate to thee, as thy slave,
My body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior,
And even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future;
Leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me,
And all that belongs to me, without exception,
According to thy good pleasure,
For the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity.

p198).
PLEDGE OF SISTER LUCIA OF FATIMA
TO OUR BLESSED MOTHER
Dear Queen and Mother, who promised at Fatima
to convert Russia and to bring peace to all mankind, in reparation to your Immaculate
Heart for my sins and the sins of the whole world, I solemnly promise to:
1. Offer up every day the sacrifices
demanded by my daily duty
2. Say part of the Rosary daily
(at least 5 decades) while meditating on the mysteries
3. Wear the Scapular of Mount Carmel
as a profession of this promise and as an act of consecration to you. I shall
renew this promise often, especially in moments of temptation.

ACT OF OBLATION TO THE MERCIFUL LOVE OF GOD
By Saint Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face
9th June 1895
Offering of myself as a Victim of Holocaust to God’s Merciful Love
O, my God! Most Blessed Trinity, I desire to love You and make You loved, to work for the glory of Holy Church by saving souls on earth and liberating those suffering in Purgatory. I desire to accomplish Your will perfectly and to reach the degree of glory You have prepared for me in Your Kingdom. I desire, in a word, to be a saint, but I feel my helplessness and I beg You, O my God, to be Yourself my Sanctity!
I offer You too, all the merits of the saints (in Heaven and on earth), their acts of love, and those of the holy angels. Finally, I offer You, O Blessed Trinity, the love and merits of the Blessed Virgin, my dear Mother. It is to her I abandon my offering, begging her to present it to You. Her Divine Son, my Beloved Spouse, told us in the days of His mortal life: “Whatsoever you ask the Father in My Name He will give it to you!” I am certain, then, that You will grant my desires: I know, O my God, that the more You want to give, the more You make us desire. I feel in my heart immense desires and it is with confidence I ask You to come and take possession of my soul. Ah! I cannot receive Holy Communion as often as I desire, but Lord, are You not all powerful? Remain in me as a tabernacle and never separate Yourself from Your little victim. I want to console You for the ingratitude of the wicked, and I beg of You to take away my freedom to displease You. If through weakness I sometimes fall, may Your divine glance cleanse my soul immediately, consuming all my imperfections like the fire that transforms everything into itself.
I thank You, O my God, for all the graces You have granted me, especially the grace of making me pass through the crucible of suffering. It is with joy I shall contemplate You on the Last Day carrying the scepter of Your Cross. Since You deigned to give me a share in this very precious Cross, I hope in Heaven to resemble You and to see shining in my glorified body the sacred stigmata of Your Passion. After earth’s exile, I hope to go and enjoy You in the Fatherland, but I do not want to lay up merits for Heaven. I want to work for Your love alone with the one purpose of pleasing You, consoling Your Sacred Heart, and saving souls who will love You eternally.
In the evening of this life, I shall appear before You with empty hands, for I do not ask You, Lord, to count my works. All our justice is stained in Your eyes. I wish, then, to be clothed in Your own justice and to receive from Your love the eternal possession of Yourself. I want no other throne, no other crown but You, my Beloved!
Time is nothing in Your eyes, and a single day is like a thousand years. You can, then, in one instant, prepare me to appear before You. In order to live in one single act of perfect love, I offer myself as a victim of holocaust to Your merciful love, asking You to consume me incessantly, allowing the waves of infinite tenderness shut up within You, to overflow into my soul, and that thus I may become a martyr of Your love, O my God! May this martyrdom, after having prepared me to appear before You, finally cause me to die and may my soul take its flight without any delay into the eternal embrace of Your merciful love. I want, O my Beloved, at each beat of my heart to renew this offering to You an infinite number of times, until the shadows having disappeared I may be able to tell You of my love in an eternal Face to Face!

SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS’ PRAYER TO OUR LADY
Mary, Mother of fair love, by whose prayers many dull and ignorant people have wonderfully increased in wisdom and holiness, I choose you as directress and patroness of my studies. I humbly pray – through the tenderness of your truly motherly love, and, more especially through that eternal Wisdom who took from you our flesh and who endowed you beyond all the saints with spiritual insights – that you would obtain for me the grace of the same Holy Spirit, so that I may always be able to grasp with my mind, retain in my memory and share with others, by word and deed, everything that honours you and your Divine Son and is conducive to a healthy life here and hereafter. Amen.
